Is Somaliland safer than Somalia?

Yes, Somaliland is generally considered to be safer than Somalia. Somaliland has enjoyed relative stability and security compared to other parts of Somalia. However, like any region, it is important for travelers to stay informed about the current situation and follow local guidance and travel advisories.

Is it safe to visit Hargeisa?

Yes, Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, is generally considered safe for visitors. As the largest city in Somaliland, it has its own administration and security forces, providing a relatively stable and secure environment. However, it’s always important for travelers to stay informed about the current situation, follow local guidance, and be aware of any travel advisories from relevant authorities. Additionally, it’s a good practice to take standard safety precautions while traveling, such as being aware of your surroundings and respecting local customs and laws.
