Day 2:Asmara city tour

Today, a city scenic tour of Asmara reveals its exceptional colonial architectural tradition. Lately, having gained World Heritage status, over 400 buildings have been engraved as possessing unique architectural value. Art Deco and Modernist cinemas, theatres, cafés, and even petrol stations define a city playground for pre-WW2 developers in their mission to fulfil Mussolini’s vision of a relevant resource for Italy’s brand-new African Empire. Asmarinos preserve remnants of the Italian way of living also.

Day 3:Asmara - Keren

Leaving Asmara, head north via the highlands, past steep terraces of coffee and orange groves, to Keren. Set on a plateau at 1,392 m and surrounded by messy ocher mountains, this is among the country’s most eye-catching towns. Holding a calculated setting, Keren saw heavy fighting during WW2 and the Eritrean War of Independence.

Sudanese influence is evident nowadays in the way people dress, their language, and food – aromatic Sudanese tea is superb. At the heart of Eritrea’s farming community, the community’s Monday livestock market is an unmissable spectacle. Camels, livestock, goats, sheep, and donkeys all have their put on a considerable hill site. The town centre market also provides a vibrant sensory overload, with vegetables, fruits, and all manner of various other items piled high for crowds of customers

Visitors will also visit the Italian and Common Wealth war cemeteries, the famous Mariam Dearit temple curved out from a Baobab tree.
